(Bandar Seri Begawan, 11th) His Majesty the Sultan's government, through the Community Development Department (JAPEM) under the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, has distributed a total of $29,975 in financial assistance to 19 family heads.
The distribution ceremony was held yesterday at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports Cultural Centre. Among the 19 families who received financial aid, 13 were flood victims, 2 were landslide victims, 2 were fire victims, 1 was a strong wind victim, and 1 was a victim of poor housing conditions.
Meanwhile, three families affected by fire, flooding and landslides respectively received basic necessities and food rations. All victims and residents of the affected homes are safe and unharmed.
This financial assistance aims to alleviate the plight of disaster victims and safeguard the well-being of their families. This move demonstrates the government’s care and concern for disaster-affected people and residents.
