Crowd Lu performed last night at the Taipei International Convention Center, kicking off three consecutive nights of his “HeartBreakFast” concert series. Known for his steady vocals, he experienced a bout of phlegm not long after the show started, which left him somewhat self-conscious.
After singing “Good Morning, Beautiful Morning!”, Lu greeted the audience, but his hoarse voice was noticeable, and he cleared his throat several times.
Following the opening night, Crowd Lu explained on Threads: “I don’t know what I was thinking, but before going on stage I drank three sips of olive oil, which got my phlegm stuck all the way to grandma’s house. I’m crying, so let’s play a song called ‘I Only Blame Myself.’” He also apologized to his fans: “I promise—I’ll never eat random things before going on stage again.”
