(Kuching, 31st) A man in his 30s has been arrested by the police yesterday for allegedly raping his 13-year-old niece.
A statement released on the Kuching District Police Headquarters Facebook page pointed out that the case was exposed on May 14 at 6:15 a.m. The victim reported to her parents, claiming that she was raped by her uncle (her parent's brother) at about 2 a.m. on April 4.
The local suspect was arrested by officers from the Kuching District Police Headquarters Criminal Investigation Department in the Sentosa area after making a report at the Sentosa Police Station at 4:43 p.m. on May 29.
"The suspect has several criminal records. During initial questioning, he has admitted to raping his underage niece."
The case is currently being investigated under Section 376B of the Penal Code (incest involving a minor). The suspect has been remanded by the Kuching Magistrates' Court.
