An aircraft carrying US Defense Secretary Hegseth made an emergency landing at an airport in the UK on the evening of the 15th.
US Department of Defense spokesperson Parnell confirmed the situation on social media.
He said that the “unscheduled landing” was due to a crack found in the plane’s windshield. The aircraft landed safely following standard procedures, and everyone on board, including Hegseth, was unharmed.
Hegseth later also responded, stating: “All is well. Thank God. Mission continues!”
Earlier that day, Hegseth attended the NATO defense ministers’ meeting in Brussels, Belgium. He then departed by plane, planning to return to the United States.
