Chung Cheng Students Showcase Calligraphy Talent, Win Awards and Promote Chinese Culture

(Seria, 19th) To inherit and promote outstanding traditional Chinese culture, Chung Cheng Middle School, Seria, recently organized its students to actively participate in the "National Brunei Chinese Schools Hard Pen Calligraphy Competition" hosted by Chung Hwa Middle School, Kuala Belait, displaying the students’ enthusiasm and solid skills in calligraphy art.

This competition brought together calligraphy enthusiasts from eight Chinese primary and secondary schools throughout Brunei. The venue was filled with the fragrance of ink, with works that featured vigorous and powerful strokes and well-balanced structures, showcasing the students’ understanding and sense of beauty in Chinese character writing.

Chung Cheng students performed excellently in various categories and won multiple awards. The results are as follows:
Lower Primary Group:
First Prize: Chua Ying Xin (2J), Li Jie Hong (2L)
Second Prize: Liu En Li (2T), Zhaula (2L)
Third Prize: Yang Jin Mi (2J)

Middle Primary Group:
Second Prize: Liao Shan Xuan (4J)
Third Prize: Teng Kai Jun (4J)

Upper Primary Group:
Second Prize: Chen Zong He (5J), Han Le En (5J), Lin Wei Xian (6J)
Third Prize: Bei Cheng Xin (5J)

Lower Secondary Group:
First Prize: Yang Shi Zhen (8L), Ai Lin (8L)
Second Prize: Hana (7L), Chen Yan Ni (7L), Guan Pei Jia (7L), Xu Hua (8J)
Third Prize: Weng Jun Hao (7L), Ni Jia (8L), Lin Wei Yan (8L)

Upper Secondary Group:
First Prize: Xie Xiu Zhen (9S), An Bei Er (10S)
Second Prize: Tan Mi Ya (10S), Huang Yu Xin (10S), Hu Ma (10S)
Third Prize: Chen En Yi (9S), Wang Jia Jia (9S), Nai La (10S), Liao Shan Yuan (10A), Fang Ru Yi (10S)

This competition not only improved students’ writing skills, but also allowed them to deeply appreciate the beauty of Chinese characters, stimulating their sense of identity and pride in Chinese culture. Moving forward, similar activities will continue to be promoted, allowing traditional culture to take root and flourish on campus.
