Bintulu Maritime Enforcement Agency Detains Violating Vessel and Crew

(Bintulu, 27th) The Bintulu Maritime Enforcement Agency carried out an enforcement operation in the waters approximately 5.5 nautical miles northwest of Bintulu Turtle Beach yesterday, detaining one violative fishing vessel.

Bintulu Maritime Enforcement Agency Director Muhammad Suffian stated that the agency discovered the above-mentioned fishing vessel during an inspection conducted in the aforementioned waters at 7:45 am this morning.

It is reported that there were 4 crew members on board the vessel, of which 2 are locals and the other 2 are Indonesians, with ages ranging from 21 to 52 years.

The agency subsequently brought the vessel and the crew back to the Bintulu Maritime Detention Center dock for further investigation.

The agency will continue to be committed to enforcing the law in Malaysian waters and will not compromise on any illegal incidents in our waters.
