(Seria, 31st) The Royal Brunei Police Force recently conducted a joint operation with various law enforcement agencies in the Seria region, carrying out crime prevention patrols and venue raids to maintain local public order and safety.
This operation involved a total of 39 police officers and enforcement personnel from the Narcotics Control Bureau (BKN), Royal Customs and Excise Department (JKED), Internal Security Department (JKDN), and the Belait District Police Headquarters. The operation was coordinated and led by Superintendent Danny Adli.
During the operation, enforcement officers arrested a male Filipino national for possessing drug paraphernalia, suspected of violating Sections 6(b) and 7 of Chapter 27 of the Misuse of Drugs Act. The case has been handed over to the relevant authorities for further investigation.
Meanwhile, Customs officers uncovered two cases involving the illegal possession of various brands of e-cigarettes and cigarettes, actions contravening Section 146(1)(d) of the Excise Order, 2006. All confiscated items have been seized and referred to the relevant authorities for further action.
The police emphasized that the public should not engage in any activities involving contraband, to prevent jeopardizing community safety, social harmony, and overall well-being.
Police also urge citizens who have any information related to criminal activities to report to the nearest police station or call the 993 emergency hotline to assist authorities in the fight against crime.
