Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi once again showcased the charm of anime diplomacy. During French President Emmanuel Macron's visit to Japan, the two struck the iconic "Kamehameha" pose from the classic Japanese anime "Dragon Ball," a scene that quickly went viral online.
Macron made a state visit to Japan, and on April 1st, after discussing topics such as nuclear energy, artificial intelligence (AI), and regional security with Sanae Takaichi, the two attended a joint press conference.
At the press conference, Macron spoke about the cooperation between Japan and France in response to the energy crisis.
The highlight of the press conference came at the end, when both appeared relaxed and cheerful, turned towards each other, and put their hands together, striking the classic "Kamehameha" pose, emitting a blue energy wave.
Previously, during a meeting with Italian Prime Minister Meloni, Sanae Takaichi specially prepared a Hello Kitty glass as a gift for the anime-loving Meloni and arranged for her to meet Tetsuo Hara, author of "Fist of the North Star."
Macron has also previously expressed his fondness for "Dragon Ball" (also known as "Dragon Ball Z"). When "Dragon Ball" author Akira Toriyama passed away, Macron posted on social media platform X, uploading a signed illustration by Toriyama to express his condolences.
