(Seria, 9th) Brunei Chinese Art & Literature Federation President Sun De'an expressed his heartfelt gratitude for the enthusiastic attendance and support of the members, and congratulated the newly elected council members for having the courage to stand for election, marking a new stage for the association.
Sun De'an made these remarks yesterday afternoon at the Brunei Chinese Art & Literature Federation's general meeting.
Sun De'an said he has served the council for 22 years, and it is time for the younger generation to take over, injecting new vitality and ideas into the organization.
He pointed out that for a group to have long-term development, it must constantly renew itself, providing successors with more stage and space.
"Through many years, there have been ups and downs, but also gains and touching moments. Precisely because of these tests, I understand more deeply the importance of inheritance and renewal. He encouraged the new council members that being elected is not only an honor but a responsibility; not because of position, but because of commitment; not out of personal will, but in response to the association and members' expectations."
He said that since everyone still places their trust, the mission must be taken up, with collective brainstorming and effort to jointly promote the development of the association.
Sun De'an emphasized that a truly mature group is not measured by personal strength, but by a steady stream of talent, with everyone fulfilling their roles and showcasing their strengths.
He hopes the new council will strengthen the promotion of public welfare and cultural activities, bringing arts and culture into society, nurturing hearts with culture, and carrying on the flame and spirit of Chinese arts and literature through practical actions.
He concluded by calling on all council members and members to work together with broader minds and more determined steps, jointly propelling the Brunei Chinese Art & Literature Federation toward a steadier and more responsible new era.
