Involved in Yu Menglong's Case for 7 Months and Cut Off by Production Crew Again, Fan Shiqi Posts 'No Criminal Record' to Prove Innocence

Last September, Yu Menglong fell to his death at a friend's residence in Beijing. The truth behind the final gathering remains unclear. Fellow actor Fan Shiqi, from the same company, was suspected of being present at the scene when the incident occurred. In addition to continuous backlash from netizens, Fan Shiqi has been removed from the lead role of dramas he starred in for fear of being implicated. Last year, 'Moonscale Chronicles' had him listed as a 'special starring role', but when the show aired recently, his name had already disappeared from promotional materials. Seven months have passed, yet his acting career remains seriously affected. Today, his studio issued a 'certificate of no criminal record', once again insisting on his innocence, claiming he has never committed any illegal acts and is completely innocent. For online rumors, slander, and false information being spread, they absolutely refuse any form of settlement and vow to pursue legal action to the end.

After Yu Menglong's death, a number of purported videos believed to be from the time of the incident circulated online. Among them, there is allegedly the voice of Yu Menglong saying, 'Fan Xiaohua (Fan Shiqi's nickname), help me,' and another voice suspected to be Fan Shiqi shouting, 'Knock him out and cut (open his stomach)'. Netizens exposed that after voiceprint analysis, the matching rate of the latter voice with Fan Shiqi was as high as 99.57%. Moreover, someone dug up on Weibo that Fan Shiqi had allegedly admitted to being the perpetrator, but deleted the post within 10 minutes.

Fan Shiqi has denied all online allegations, but netizens believe this holds little weight unless he can provide an alibi proving he was not at the key location when Yu Menglong’s incident happened.
