Terrifying Incident on Korean Airport Bus! Driver Suddenly Passes Out, Chinese Tourists Grab the Steering Wheel and Save the Whole Bus

A Korean airport bus carrying multiple Chinese tourists recently experienced a thrilling moment when the driver suddenly lost consciousness while driving, causing the vehicle to become momentarily out of control. The Chinese tourists on board remained calm in the face of danger, rushing forward to help control the steering wheel and press the brakes, ultimately succeeding in pulling the bus over to the side of the road and preventing a serious accident.

According to Chinese media reports, the incident happened at around 4:30 pm local time on the 11th, near Terminal 1 of Incheon International Airport in South Korea. At the time, an airport bus traveling from downtown Seoul to Incheon Airport was carrying about a dozen to twenty passengers, most of whom were Chinese tourists.

Recounting the event, passenger Xiao Wang said that as the bus approached the airport, they suddenly heard a sound suggesting the vehicle had scraped against the curb, and then a front-row passenger shouted, “The driver has passed out!”

In the critical moment, several female Chinese tourists immediately rushed toward the driver’s area. One of them, a Ms. Sun, quickly grabbed the steering wheel, slowly turning the out-of-control bus toward the right emergency lane; another female passenger helped to press the brakes. Working together, they managed to bring the vehicle to a steady stop.

After the bus halted, the passengers onboard immediately launched a rescue effort, moving the unconscious driver into the aisle and taking turns performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on him. However, it was understood that at the time, the driver was no longer breathing or had a detectable pulse.

As Ms. Sun was the only passenger aboard who could speak Korean, she took responsibility for calling emergency services and explained to the police that the driver appeared to have suffered a cardiac arrest. Korean police and emergency personnel soon arrived on the scene to assist the driver and arranged alternative transportation for the passengers to continue to the airport.

The bus operating company involved later responded that it was further verifying the details of the incident and the driver’s physical condition.

The incident, once reported, also drew widespread attention among Korean netizens, with many praising the Chinese tourists for staying calm and taking prompt action to save all the passengers when confronted with an emergency in a foreign country.

One Korean netizen commented that encountering such a crisis in a foreign country with a language barrier, the passengers were still able to quickly cooperate and handle the situation, “This kind of calm and brave response is worthy of recognition.”
