47-year-old Taiwanese singer Aska Yang participated in a lineup concert in Xining, Qinghai Province, China on the evening of the 23rd. Due to a sudden backward movement of a stage mechanical device, he lost his footing while singing and fell off the 2-meter-high stage. The microphone on site caught the sound of a heavy impact. When he was assisted away by the staff, he was seen frowning and clenching his teeth, seemingly unable to walk due to severe pain, and was ultimately taken away by ambulance while inhaling oxygen. Afterwards, his studio informed the fan club that his injuries were not serious. However, he subsequently canceled work, including performances scheduled for August 30 and September 4, citing concerns for his physical condition and following doctors’ advice.
After Yang was sent to the hospital on the night of the 23rd, the concert organizer "Dongting Music" told the media that Yang’s injuries were not serious, only that he had sprained his waist. In the early hours of the 24th, Yang himself posted to reassure everyone: “Just one step away from being an energetic guy again,” but also prayed that his mother would not see the trending video online showing his accident.
His studio recently canceled the August 30th performance at the "Kuaishou Super Summer Night" event, and also announced his absence from the originally scheduled recording of CCTV Variety’s "Shencai Zheng Feiyang—Langjiu Night" concert in Suining, Sichuan on September 4th. It seems that it will take him at least nearly half a month to recover.
