Chinese celebrity Liu Genghong, who once led a trend of live-streamed fitness exercises in China, was recently revealed by a netizen on Xiaohongshu for his team driving away customers for recording, asking people to give up their spots in a restaurant! The netizen stated that they went to a well-known rice noodle shop in Nanning for a meal, where 30 to 40 people were queued at the entrance. After queuing for more than 20 minutes and almost reaching their turn, Liu Genghong’s recording team suddenly appeared. A dozen or so large men emerged, pushing the queued people aside and asking young seated customers to give up their spots. They formed a circle, forcibly removing customers, allowing Liu Genghong to enter the shop for filming. The netizen waited for over 30 minutes without getting any food, leading him to furiously post a complaint. After learning about this, Liu Genghong commented under the complaint, "Sorry for delaying your meal," along with a sweat-dropped face emoji.
According to Chinese media "Jiupai News," the shop owner said they weren't concerned about celebrities and didn’t recognize Liu Genghong. They were told by friends that a celebrity would come for lunch. Later, the celebrity team filmed for over 10 minutes in the shop before leaving, during which the store suspended issuing customer number tags.
Some netizens feel that it was the shop's mismanagement of the process. If a celebrity recording was to take place, customers should have been informed in advance or the business should be temporarily closed to avoid leaving customers waiting in vain. The complaining netizen later supplemented that Liu Genghong himself had a very good attitude. After being pushed aside, he saw Liu getting off the car and greeting everyone friendly, but the team acted more roughly, pushing the queued individuals in an unavoidable manner and not being dispersed by Liu Genghong's team.
