Kuching Royal Dragon Temple Xinghua Chengying Hall Begins Reservations for Auspicious Lantern Hanging Activity

(Kuching, Jan 7) The year of the Snake 2025 (Yi Shi) is approaching, ushering in another prosperous year; the Chinese New Year festival is just around the corner!

The Kuching Royal Dragon Temple Xinghua Chengying Hall has begun accepting reservations for hanging "Auspicious Lanterns" in the inner hall, "Heavenly Blessings Lanterns" in the outer hall, "Five Blessings" door lanterns at the main gate, "Thanksgiving God Gratitude Horizontal Colors," and "Illuminating Light" outside the temple.

Devotees wishing to register for lantern hanging can start making reservations from today.

Each "Auspicious Lantern" in the inner hall is priced at 1500 intent, each "Heavenly Blessings Lantern" in the outer hall is priced at 1500 intent, each "Five Blessings" door lantern is priced at 1500 square meters, each "Thanksgiving God Gratitude Horizontal Color" is priced at 800 square meters, and each "Illuminating Light" outside the temple is 100 surface.

Hanging lanterns during the upcoming Chinese New Year signifies great luck, auspiciousness, abundance of fortune, family peace, commercial prosperity, and prosperous wealth.

On January 19 (Sunday) at 9 AM, the temple will hold a Chinese New Year charity event, chaired by vice treasurer Lin Wanting. The temple will celebrate the Lantern Festival on February 6, 2025 (Thursday), the ninth day of the lunar new year. Activities on that day will start at 8 AM and end at 10 PM.

Kuching Royal Dragon Temple Xinghua Chengying Hall, following the tradition of Xinghua people, allows devotees to request a "Furnace Share (Fulingshang)" to take home during the bustling Lantern Festival. 

This represents family peace, and newlywed couples or those seeking children are encouraged to come to the temple to request a Fulingshang to place in their room. After having a child in the coming year, they come back to fulfill their vows. The temple also provides Furnace Shares (Fulingshang) this year for those interested, priced at 20 ringgit each.

There will also be lion dance performances, Huangmei opera performances, and fireworks shows on the evening of the event, and we hope everyone will participate in these activities.
