Temporary Closure of Several Roads for 'Kuala Baram Race 4.0' Event

(Miri, 4th) In conjunction with the upcoming 'Kuala Baram Race 4.0' road cycling event, several major roads will be temporarily closed in phases this weekend (July 5th and 6th). The police are urging the public to plan their journeys in advance and cooperate with directions to ensure the smooth running of the race.

According to an announcement from Miri District Police Chief ACP Mohd Farhan Lee Bin Abdullah, the event will be held over two days: the individual time trial on July 5th (Saturday) and the road race on July 6th (Sunday).

“To ensure the smooth conduct of the event, the organizers will implement temporary road closures and traffic control measures along the relevant routes.”

July 5th Time Trial: From 7:00 am to 12:00 noon that day, Jalan Kuala Baram will be completely closed from the Senadin traffic light junction to Kampung Muhibbah junction.

July 6th Road Race: The following day, from 6:00 am to 1:00 pm, urban routes (Jalan Bandaraya) will be completely closed. In addition, temporary traffic control will be implemented in phases throughout the race route, with the following main roads affected:

The police will enforce phased road closures along the race course and deploy personnel on-site to direct traffic, ensuring the safety and smooth running of the competition.

Assistant Commissioner Mohamad Fakhri reminds road users to take note of the temporary road closure notifications and follow the instructions of traffic officers to maintain order during the event. “We urge citizens to plan their journeys in advance to avoid being affected by road closures.”

'Kuala Baram Race 4.0' is one of Miri’s most important annual events, attracting both local and international participants, and plays a positive role in promoting local sports tourism.
