Film emperor Sean Lau and Miss Hong Kong champion Amy Kwok have been married since 1998 for 26 years. The couple has always been affectionate and low-key, and they are recognized as a model couple in the entertainment circle. Earlier, Sean appeared on DoDo Cheng's short film channel program 'The Do Show' and shared his experience of meeting Amy Kwok and their life together.
Sean became the Best Actor for the Hong Kong Film Awards again in 2015 with 'Overheard 3', and on stage, he thanked his wife Amy Kwok with his 'spaceship theory.' At that time, Sean's words moved many people: 'When I'm driving the spaceship flying into the unknown universe, you always find a way to safely bring me back to Earth.' Years later, Sean revisited this statement in the program, humorously clarifying that Amy Kwok had never worked at NASA, and those words were just his feelings at the time on stage.
When DoDo asked about the love story between Sean and Amy, he revealed that once after work, he saw Amy practicing for a program: 'She was dancing on stage with Catherine Cheng, and seeing such a beautiful woman on stage, I liked her a bit. Later, we acted together in 'The Greed of Man', but during the filming, even though I liked her, we both focused on acting. We only got together afterward.' About pursuing Amy Kwok, Sean laughed and said he boldly invited her for tea to chat: 'She really asked me what I wanted, suspecting I wanted to borrow money from her. I just said I really wanted to see her, then we started dating, and soon after, we got married.'
Talking about the proposal method, Sean straightforwardly said the proposal process wasn't special, unlike the dramas where one kneels on one knee, he simply said, 'Why don't we get married.' Sean admitted that Amy Kwok changed his temperament, and said that being together requires mutual communication and understanding, further praising his wife's easygoing personality, saying she is a trustworthy person, 'She'd never betray me; she is someone we can completely accept.'
