(Kuching, 24th) The Kuching North City Hall will strengthen flood control work in 18 areas identified as flood black zones.
These areas are frequently affected by heavy rains, especially during the monsoon season.
Kuching North Mayor Datuk Hilmi said that the areas of concern include Tun Ahmad Zaidi Road, Kamaruliyat Alley, Yunyun Garden Road, Pinang Jawa Road, Million Garden, and Kampung Pasir Pandar.
He stated that in the past three months, the Kuching North City Hall has conducted intensive drainage maintenance to ensure smoother water flow.

He added that the Kuching North City Hall also conducts regular monitoring in these areas to identify the causes of the issues and provide long-term solutions.
He said that the Kuching North City Hall closely collaborates with the Public Works Department and the Irrigation and Drainage Department to implement technical solutions, including repairing drainage systems and installing water pumps at key locations.
Additionally, he noted that logistics and equipment such as trucks, backhoe loaders, and mobile lights are ready to assist in rescue operations when needed.
The Kuching North City Hall hopes that through these continuous efforts, it can minimize the risk of flooding and provide a comfortable environment for residents in frequently affected areas.
