Iranian Parliament Warns U.S. Not to Interfere in Hormuz Strait's 'New Management Regime'

Ebrahim Azizi, Chairman of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of Iran's Islamic Parliament, posted on social media in the early hours of the 4th, saying that any U.S. interference in the Hormuz Strait’s 'new maritime management regime' would be regarded as a violation of the ceasefire agreement.

Azizi said: “The Hormuz Strait and the Persian Gulf will not be managed by Trump's delusional posts.”

On the 3rd, U.S. President Trump announced on social media that on the 4th he would launch 'Operation Liberty,' assisting in the safe evacuation of neutral countries' ships stranded in the Strait of Hormuz, and warned that any interference with the operation would be met with a 'strong response'—a move seen as a direct challenge to Iran's blockade.

According to Iranian media reports on the 2nd, Ali Nikzad, Deputy Speaker of the Iranian Islamic Parliament, stated that the parliament will approve a 'Hormuz Strait Management Act,' which includes: a permanent ban on Israeli ships passing through this critical waterway; ships from 'hostile countries' must pay 'war reparations' to obtain passage permits; and all other vessels will need Iranian authorization to pass.
