(Kuching, 20th) According to the 13th Malaysia Plan (13MP) First Rolling Plan, the federal government has approved an allocation of RM5.99 billion for the implementation of 1,100 federal projects in Sarawak.
Sarawak Deputy Premier and Second Minister of Finance and New Economy Datuk Amar Douglas said that as of April 2026, RM1.2 billion has been spent, accounting for 20% of the total allocation.
“As of April 2026, a total of 195 projects (18%) have been completed, while the rest are at different stages of implementation.”
Douglas stated during his department’s recap today that under the Fifth Rolling Plan of the 12th Malaysia Plan (12MP), the federal government approved RM5.7 billion for the implementation of 1,206 federal projects in Sarawak.
According to him, as of December 2025, RM4.6 billion (80% of the approved amount) had been spent, with 390 projects (32%) completed and the remaining 816 projects (68%) at various stages of implementation.
Meanwhile, Douglas stated that Sarawak’s Poor House Improvement Program received a total allocation of RM310 million, of which RM212.3 million (88% of the total) has been spent under the 12th Sarawak Fiscal Budget (RMK).
“Under the 13th Sarawak Fiscal Budget (RMK), the 2026 Fiscal Budget allocates a total of RM70 million, of which RM22.5 million (32% of the total) has already been spent for the implementation of this program.”
He further added that since the program was launched in 2018, it has directly benefited 68,423 families, with total expenditures reaching RM558 million.
