(Kuching, 29th) Continuing to bring warmth and support to the underprivileged elderly, the Kuching Lions Nursing Home has once again received a RM5,000 allocation from Chong Chieng Jen’s Parliamentary Constituency Service Center!

Stampin Member of Parliament Chong Chieng Jen has always shown care for disadvantaged groups, handing over the allocation to the Kuching Lions Nursing Home as annual operating expenses to help the institution continue providing proper care services to senior citizens.

As a charitable organization, the nursing home has, for over 30 years, steadfastly provided professional care for elderly people with disabilities and those needing round-the-clock supervision, and has long faced pressure from medical facility needs and daily expenses. Therefore, the home often raises funds through charity sales, community donations, and other fundraising activities, including charity events that have garnered support from all sectors of society, in order to improve the living environment and medical facilities for its residents, thus showcasing social compassion.

Chong Chieng Jen stated that the nursing home has quietly dedicated itself for many years, shouldering important caregiving responsibilities for society, and their good deeds deserve praise and the support of all sectors.

He pointed out that, with the intensification of the population ageing trend, the role of such institutions in the social system is increasingly important. Therefore, the government and the public must work together to ensure that these organizations have stable resources to operate.

Chong also emphasized that he has been paying attention to the development of the nursing home for many years, and, through his constituency service center, has done his part by providing financial support to help ease their funding burden. At the same time, by doing so, he hopes to inspire more members of society, businesses and organizations to join the ranks of philanthropy and work together to provide better care for this home and other vulnerable groups.

Meanwhile, he added that his service center team is also actively contributing by setting up charity stalls, collecting donated goods from caring individuals in society, and raising funds for the home at charity sales in order to support their good work with concrete action.

Kuching North Lions Club President Chang Hui Mei expressed heartfelt thanks to Chong Chieng Jen for his long-standing support and said the allocation would ease their daily operating expenses and enhance the facilities of the institution, allowing the elderly to enjoy their twilight years in a more comfortable and dignified environment.

Chong Chieng Jen pledged to continue supporting the nursing home and to help as much as he can.
