(Kuching, 25th) Sarawak's active development is comprehensive, not just concentrated in the capital of Sarawak.
Premier of Sarawak, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari stated that each region of Sarawak has its own advantages, which have been identified and are being developed according to these advantages.
"Currently, I can assure you that the grand plan of Sarawak does not only focus on the development of Kuching. We are positioning Bintulu as a gas hub, Miri as the gateway to the north, Sibu is currently in a rebuilding phase, Samarahan as a development area, while Sarikei and Mukah are identified as agricultural urban areas, these places will benefit from development based on their own strengths."
He said this in conjunction with the Christmas message for 2024 and New Year 2025.
He explained that although it is expected to take another 5 to 10 years, the government hopes to elevate Sarawak to an era of progress comparable to other developed countries.
Speaking about the Christmas celebrations, Abang Johari hopes the people of Sarawak continue to be rational while respecting each other's celebrations of all religions.
Accordingly, he urged people to continue to be mindful of their actions to avoid causing destruction and creating chaos in unity.
"These are the values that our Sarawak society has lived and nurtured for a long time, and they are the heritage passed down from our
previous generations to us. Regardless of our religious beliefs or views on certain issues, we should always respect the values of the people of Sarawak in our relations."
On this occasion, Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari also wished everyone a Merry Christmas and hoped that those celebrating Christmas would do so with joy according to Christian teachings.
