(Bandar Seri Begawan, 13th) A delegation organized by Brunei's Star Entertainment set off for Xiamen, China on October 12th to participate in the "2025 World Minnan Golden Melody Awards Ceremony" and the Cross-Strait Minnan Music Competition. This annual event brings together outstanding Minnan-language musicians from around the world, aiming to promote the inheritance and innovation of Minnan songs and showcase the charm of diverse musical cultures.
The three singers representing Brunei in this event are Hou Chunxi, Cai Meiqi, and Hong Ruimin. Star Entertainment’s Production Director and Managing Director, Cai Xinzhe, personally serves as the team leader, leading the team to Xiamen for the competition. The delegation will complete check-in, drawing lots, sound checks, and filming successively from October 14th as part of the pre-competition preparation. The “Top 60 to Top 30” advancement round will be held on October 15th, followed by the “Top 30 to Top 12” advancement round on October 16th. On October 22nd, the top 12 contestants will make the final sprint to the grand finale stage under the guidance of music directors and professional bands.
The grand finale, the "World Minnan Golden Melody Awards Ceremony", will be held with great fanfare on the evening of October 25th. At that time, the Top 60 singers will perform on stage together, with live performances and global live broadcasts. The Brunei Star Entertainment delegation will also demonstrate the strength and elegance of Bruneian musicians on the grand stage, conveying the passion and cultural heritage of Brunei’s local music.
