(China, Sep 9th) Starting from June 9, China implemented a visa-free policy for ordinary passport holders from Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait, and Bahrain. Thus, the number of countries benefiting from China's unilateral visa-free policy has expanded to 47.
According to Xinhua News Agency1, from June 9 this year until June 8, 2026, ordinary passport holders from Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait, and Bahrain can enter China for business, tourism, family visits, exchanges, and transit for up to 30 days without a visa. Together with the Gulf Cooperation Council countries UAE and Qatar, which achieved a full mutual visa exemption in 2018, China has now achieved full visa exemption 'coverage' for the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.
A spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs previously stated that the continuously growing 'list' of visa exemptions highlights China's firm commitment to advancing high-level openness to the outside world. China will continue to optimize entry policies, continually expand the range of visa-free countries, allowing more foreign friends to come to China to experience higher quality product offerings, more diverse consumer scenarios, and more convenient service guarantees, sharing prosperity through greater openness and deeper cooperation with all countries.
