Car Collides and Overturns with Lorry, 3 Dead and 1 Injured Among Passengers

(Selangor, 22nd) An SUV collided out of control with a lorry, causing the car to overturn, resulting in 3 male and female passengers inside the car dead and 1 injured.

At 2:07am on Friday, the Fire and Rescue Department received a report of this accident which happened at KM 34 on the Karak Expressway heading towards Kuala Lumpur near Kampung Sungai Chinchin in the Gombak district, Selangor. Six firefighters from Selayang station were dispatched to the scene to provide assistance.

According to Selangor Fire and Rescue Department operations officer Mukhlis, the vehicles involved were a Volkswagen SUV and the rear part of a cement lorry which collided seriously.

He stated that four Malay passengers were trapped inside the car, and firefighters promptly extricated all of them and handed them over to Ministry of Health personnel for further action.

He said that three Malay men, aged between 24 and 26, died at the scene, while a 27-year-old female passenger suffered severe head injuries and a fractured left leg, and was seriously injured.

He added that the rescue operation was brought under control at 3:15am. Authorities are still investigating the cause of the accident.
