Published at Jun 11, 2026 11:36 am
The US Central Command stated on the 10th that its forces began conducting self-defense strikes against multiple targets inside Iran at 5:15 p.m. Eastern Time on the 10th (5:15 a.m. Malaysia time on the 11th). The strikes aim to respond to Iran's "unprovoked and ongoing attacks."

The US Central Command said that, under the direction of President Trump, it has completed a series of self-defense strikes against several targets inside Iran.

According to the Central Command, the US military struck Iran's military reconnaissance capabilities, communication systems, and air defense positions. Combat forces from the US Marine Corps, Air Force, and Navy launched precision-guided munitions at Iranian targets. These targets posed a threat to US forces and international commercial vessels navigating in regional waters.

The US military had previously carried out self-defense strikes against Iran at 5 p.m. Eastern Time on the 9th.

If Necessary, We'll Negotiate with Bombs
Earlier, US Secretary of War Hegseth addressed the media from US Central Command headquarters in Tampa, Florida, saying that the US military would carry out airstrikes on key Iranian facilities that night.

He said: "CENTCOM will be very busy tonight, because President Trump has said that we need to hit Iran hard, and we will indeed do so."

He stated that the US action aims to urge Iran to reach an agreement with the US, and accused Iranian negotiators of continuously stalling the US side.

He said: "If we need to negotiate with bombs, then we'll negotiate with bombs."
