Miri Rotary Club May 1-3 Medical Mission Serving Over 250 People in Long Sela’an Village, Ulu Baram

(Miri, 29th) In response to the urgent need for medical services in rural areas, the Rotary Club of Miri will be conducting a 3-day, 2-night "12th Medical Mission" from May 1 to May 3 at Long Sela’an Village, Ulu Baram. The event will be held at Segah Sela’an Homestay.

The event is expected to benefit about 250 villagers and will cover various areas such as disease prevention and treatment, maternal and child health, basic education, and literacy promotion. Activities include basic medical examinations, dental and vision screenings, deworming and lice treatment, health lectures, motivational courses, and distributing learning supplies, school bags, and stationery to students.

This medical mission is one of the flagship community service projects of the Rotary Club of Miri, dedicated to enhancing the health awareness of rural residents and helping them understand the medical resources available. The event is supported by various local organizations and international partners, including Miri Hospital, dental clinics, optical stores, and volunteer medical teams.

Collaborative partners include the Rotary Club of Miri, Rotary Club of Belait Brunei, Rotaract Club of Curtin University, Parliamentary Constituency P220 Baram Service Center, Segah Sela’an Homestay, 4x4 Team from Brunei Darussalam, Bright Smile Dental Clinic, Miri Hospital, Miri City Health Clinic, Borneo Biscuit Factory Sdn. Bhd., Jee Kwong Optical Sdn. Bhd., and Sarawak Oil Palms Berhad.
