Queen Jolin Tsai recently held her “PLEASURE” world tour concert in Xiamen, China, but during the show, a suspected stage machinery malfunction occurred. Several large props operated abnormally, causing a burst of exclamation from the live audience! Fortunately, Jolin responded quickly on the spot, managed to stay calm and finished the performance. However, the footage still left many fans with their hearts in their throats, urging the organizers to place even greater importance on stage safety.
(Xiamen, 17th) During the concert that night, when Jolin was performing the song “Fish Love,” the giant installation “Book of Truth” was supposed to turn pages along with the song. Yet near the end of the song, the prop visibly tilted—the entire page flipped outwards with a dramatic motion—and Jolin, who was standing on the structure, momentarily lost her balance. She quickly reached out to hold onto a support and steady herself, and carried on singing with professionalism and composure until the end of the song. Staff only rushed into the mechanical area to check after the performance was over.

In addition, when singing her classic song “Compromise,” Jolin had to stand on the minute hand of a giant clock prop to complete a segment. However, the prop apparently malfunctioned suddenly, making the entire segment visibly unstable. Jolin was visibly startled by the unexpected situation, making the atmosphere at the venue a bit tense.
Many fans left messages on social media afterwards expressing their concerns: “As long as she’s safe, that’s what matters,” “There were really so many problems with the props today, but thankfully Jiejie finished the show in such a composed way.” There are also urgent calls for organizers to strengthen safety checks, to prevent artists from being startled when performing in mid-air or on large props and to ensure performance safety.#
