The Public Accounts Committee of Parliament will initiate hearings on five new issues in the next parliamentary session.

The chairperson of the committee, Datuk Mas Ermieyati, stated that the relevant issues involve airport management, as well as local investments of Khazanah Nasional and Kuala Lumpur land development.

She pointed out that other issues include the ecosystem of private medical services, control mechanisms, legal framework, and methods of medical insurance financing; the impact of rising private service prices on government hospitals, and the procurement of electric trains valued at 10.7 billion ringgit by leasing for 30 years.

“For plans next year, three issues still under investigation by the committee this year will carry over to next year, namely the management of the rice planting plan, national water management, and the Inland Revenue Board’s accounts receivable management.”

She said this at a press conference held yesterday at the Parliament building.

Mas Ermieyati said that with the first session of the fourth quarter of the 15th parliament starting from February 3 to March 6 next year, the committee will also present six reports and three follow-up action reports.

She mentioned that these reports include water supply management plans in rural Sarawak and Sabah, commitments of 1Malaysia Development Berhad, the Multi-Lane Free Flow system (MLFF), and the procurement of the Foreign Worker Centralized Management System (FWCMS).

She also noted that this year, the committee has already presented 11 reports in the lower house, covering 11 committee reports and 11 departmental follow-up action reports on the committee's recommendations.
