(Bandar Seri Begawan, 9th Jan) The Kiudang Chung Hwa School Board introduced the school's incoming principal, How Moi Hua, to the Chinese news media at a banquet last night at the Jade House restaurant in Gadong. Principal How will officially assume her position on February 1 this year.
Present at last night's banquet were the school's Chairman Yang Wencheng and Deputy Chairman Huang Yiqiang.
In her speech at the banquet, Tao Meihua disclosed that Jiuting Zhonghua School was founded in 1951, making it a 74-year-old institution with a long history.
Kiudang Chung Hwa School upholds the educational philosophy of its forefathers, promotes Chinese education, and aligns with the national education policy by implementing tri-lingual education. It aims to keep up with the times and international standards, nurturing many outstanding talents for the country and society.
This February 2025, Kiudang Chung Hwa School will welcome a new principal, Ms. How Moi Hua. Principal holds a Master’s in Educational Management from the University of Western Australia and a Bachelor's in Chinese Literature from Taiwan’s National Normal University. She has served as a Chinese teacher, head of the Chinese department, academic dean, and assistant principal in secondary education for 22 years in Chinese schools. She has participated in educational study tours, seminars, and training in China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Philippines multiple times. Later, in 2016, she founded the 'Siyue Academy' Learning Center, which primarily focused on teaching Chinese, and frequently invited renowned experts and scholars from Taiwan, Singapore, and Malaysia to Brunei to conduct Chinese teacher training, in collaboration with eight Chinese schools. The program comprised courses such as reading and writing, pictorial teaching, and the Satir Iceberg Model dialogues, and also involved parent-teacher forums organized jointly with schools, receiving unanimous praise from numerous teachers and community members.
The Kiudang Chung Hwa School Board is delighted to invite Principal How, who has served in the education sector for over thirty years and possesses rich administrative and teaching experience, to join the school's team. The board will fully support and cooperate with Principal Tao to promote school affairs and is committed to working with her to enhance the professional quality of the teachers and to create an innovative and collaborative educational team. Meanwhile, the board believes that under Principal How’s leadership, the students' learning ability and comprehensive quality will be further enhanced, laying a solid foundation for their future and bringing new dynamism and vitality to Jiuting Zhonghua School’s educational enterprise.
As we step into the year 2025, the new Kiudang Chung Hwa School Board would like to take this opportunity to share the school’s educational vision with the public and will gradually implement the following reforms to improve the overall educational quality and the students' comprehensive quality.
In terms of infrastructure:
Computerization of administrative systems, promotion of technological teaching, installation of projectors and screens in classrooms, enhancement of kindergarten playground facilities, repair of fences, hiring of security to increase campus safety, strengthening of the surveillance (CCTV) monitoring system, and reorganization and beautification of the campus.
In terms of software:
Internally: Professional training of teachers, gradual enhancement of Chinese teaching quality, establishment of a high-quality teaching team; fostering and improving students’ comprehensive quality through innovative teaching methods, a high-quality learning environment, academic exchanges, and involvement in corporate and public welfare organizations’ practice activities.
Externally: Enhance visits and exchanges with the international educational community, strengthen school-parent connections, build a collaborative platform with the community and society, and promote links with alumni.
The Kiudang Chung Hwa School Board will launch a fundraising campaign from January 6, urging the public to generously support and aid the school's noble cause.
