(Jakarta, 10th) The Indonesian Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs has issued 180 official press cards to journalists from 68 domestic and international media outlets to support media coverage of the ministry's daily affairs.

Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs, Metya Hafid, stated in a statement on Saturday: "This is one of the transparency measures taken by our department to support quality journalism. With the press card, journalists can access various work facilities provided by our department."

Hafid mentioned that the facilities available to journalists include workspaces, internet connection, and other tools to support interviews. She emphasized that this aligns with the ministry's commitment to establishing an orderly, safe, and professional public information access mechanism.

In addition to issuing press cards, the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs has also launched a regular exchange event called "Coffee with Journalists," to be held every Friday, hosted alternately by the Minister, Deputy Minister, or various directors general.

"We hope to establish a continuously operating communication platform every week, making public information services more efficient," Hafid added.

She further explained that the press card is not only a pass to the newsroom but also part of the ministry's transparent information mechanism. Cardholding journalists will not be bound by cumbersome administrative procedures and will be able to access government information more smoothly, thereby promoting communication between the government and the public.

Meanwhile, Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs, Nezarpatria, stated that the ministry has prepared numerous supporting facilities for journalists, including computers and research rooms, to support their professional reporting.

"These facilities will assist journalists in all aspects of their work, from research, writing, to on-site interviews," he said.
