(Jakarta, 25th) The Jakarta Police have arrested another suspect who was previously listed on the wanted list (DPO) for the Jakarta Special Region City Hall building protest riot incident (May 21).
"The suspect was arrested at the residence registered on their ID card, located in Cibitung, Bekasi Regency, at 00:18 on May 24, 2025," Jakarta Police Public Relations Chief Ade Ary Syam Indradi stated in a statement released in Jakarta on Saturday.
Ade Ary added that the suspect MAA was arrested by a joint team from the National Security Division (Kamneg) and the Mobile Investigations Unit (Resmob).
"The suspect is currently being held at the Jakarta Police Detention and Evidence Management Department (Dittahti)," he said.
The Jakarta Police previously arrested 93 people in connection with the riot at City Hall on May 21, of whom 15 were confirmed as suspects, and another suspect (namely MAA) was already listed as wanted.
"After an in-depth investigation by the Jakarta Police Criminal Investigation Department's National Security Division, 15 suspects were confirmed out of the 93 arrested," Ade Ary stated in an interview on May 23 (Friday).
He added that the 16 confirmed suspects are all students from a private university in West Jakarta.
"Based on evidence, including the forensic report (visum et repertum) of a victim and a flash drive, these individuals were confirmed as suspects," he said.
The initials of the arrested students include RN, ARP, TMC, FNM, AAA, RYD, MKS, ENA, IKBJY, MR, RIJ, NSC, ZFP, AHB, WPA, and MAA (the wanted target).
"The remaining 78 have been released and handed over to their families," Ade Ary added.
These suspects are charged with violating the following Penal Code articles:
Article 160: Incitement to commit a crime;
Article 170: Acts of group violence;
Article 212: Resisting an officer in the performance of his duties;
Article 216: Failure to comply with lawful orders or requests;
Article 218: Refusal to obey the orders of officers maintaining security.
