(Kuala Belait, 25th) Jiang Yun, Deputy Principal of Brunei Kuala Belait Chung Hwa Middle School, successfully completed the “Chinese Language Education · Chinese School Principals” training program held in Xiamen, Fujian, last year. The workshop was organized by the Chinese Language Education Development Center and undertaken by Huaqiao University, with the theme 'Leadership in Chinese Education · Innovating for the Future.' It attracted 80 overseas Chinese school principals and leaders from 33 countries.
The 10-day training program covered over 60 course hours on topics including practical applications of AI-assisted teaching tools, development of multimodal cultural resources, brand operations for Chinese schools, and enhancement of principal leadership. Principals from Thailand, the United States, Australia, and other countries shared their own teaching practices and experiences, exploring new perspectives on the integration of technology and culture, differentiated teaching, and cross-cultural education. Practical activities such as root-seeking on Gulangyu Island and Quanzhou intangible cultural heritage experiences also provided vivid cultural learning materials for the participating principals.
Deputy Principal Jiang Yun stated that the workshop not only provided advanced teaching concepts and techniques, but also built a platform for international exchange and cooperation among Chinese schools. She is especially interested in the application of AI in teaching, and plans to promote the integration of AI-assisted teaching with immersive cultural classrooms after returning to the school, optimizing curriculum design and enhancing students’ Chinese proficiency and cultural literacy. She said, 'Chinese language education is not only about language teaching, but also about cultural transmission. This program made me deeply realize the importance of integrating technology and culture, and has injected new momentum into the school’s future educational innovation.'
Through this training, Kuala Belait Chung Hwa Middle School will further explore innovative teaching models. By leveraging advanced technology and the achievements of international exchange, the school aims to provide students with a more diverse and lively Chinese learning experience while promoting high-quality development of the school’s Chinese education.
