(Miri, 11th) Sarawak's Minister of Transport, Dato Sri Lee Kim Shin, stated that primary school graduation is not the end of life but rather the starting point for striving for dreams after entering secondary school.
He encouraged graduates to set dreams starting from school life, work diligently to achieve them, and clearly recognize their talents and characteristics to pave the way for the future.
He stated this during a speech at the 78th Graduation and Awards Ceremony for the year 2024 held this morning at Chung Hua Lutong Miri School's (SJK (C) CHUNG HUA LUTONG MIRI) auditorium.Lee Kim Shin pointed out that with community development and technological advancement, especially the widespread application of social media and artificial intelligence, future education and life will face more opportunities and challenges.
He emphasized that teachers also need to constantly improve themselves, especially in computer and artificial intelligence education, to better adapt to education reform.
Minister Lee specifically mentioned that students should be grateful, thanking teachers for their hard work over the past six years.
He stated that a positive mindset and a correct outlook on life are the keys to success. At the same time, he reminded students not to forget to be grateful to their parents and thank them for their companionship and educational support.
He also pointed out that although he has attended numerous graduation ceremonies, there are still students who do not say "thank you" when receiving awards, reflecting a lack of basic manners among some students.
He believes that having a grateful heart is very important, and students should always maintain an attitude of gratitude.
Finally, Lee Kim Shin encouraged graduates to have a sense of independence and autonomy, as future success will depend on personal effort and dedication. When facing challenges, they should bravely face and overcome them.
