(Bandar Seri Begawan, 14th) Brunei will send a 12-member delegation, comprising 6 athletes and 6 officials, to participate in the 23rd Commonwealth Games in 2026. The team will depart in two groups for Glasgow, Scotland, on the 19th and 21st of this month to embark on their final preparations for the event.
The 6 participating athletes are 3 men and 3 women, and they will compete in athletics, swimming, and weightlifting. In addition, there are 6 accompanying officials, including the head of the delegation, chief secretary, secretariat officer, and 3 coaches.
A flag presentation ceremony was held yesterday morning at the National Stadium, presided over by Prince Sufri Bolkiah, Chairman of the Brunei National Olympic Committee, who presented the national flag to the head of delegation, Pengiran Siti Amal Jariah. The Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Pengiran Dato Seri Setia Hj Nazmi, Acting British High Commissioner to Brunei Ken O’Flaherty, senior officials from the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, representatives of various sports associations, and athletes' families were present at the ceremony.
