U.S. President Trump stated on the 15th that the United States is engaged in a trade war with China.
When asked by the media at the White House whether, if an agreement cannot be reached with Xi Jinping during their meeting in South Korea later this month, the U.S. would end up in an "ongoing trade war" with China, he said: "We are already in a trade war."
He said: "We have 100% tariffs."
In addition, Trump pointed out that Indian Prime Minister Modi has promised to stop purchasing Russian oil.
He said: "I was unhappy with India purchasing Russian oil, and he (Modi) assured me that India would no longer purchase oil from Russia."
He said: "This is an important development. Next, I must persuade China to do the same."
He noted that this cannot be achieved immediately, that it will take some time, but it will be over very soon.
Previously, the U.S. imposed punitive tariffs on India due to its purchase of Russian oil.
‘At a single command’ the Gaza military operation could be resumed
On the other hand, Trump said that if Hamas refuses to abide by the ceasefire agreement, he will consider allowing Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu to resume military operations in Gaza.
He told CNN, "At my command," the Israeli army could return to Gaza to resume operations.
He stated: "The Hamas problem — will soon be resolved."
On the 15th, Israeli Defense Minister Gallant warned that if Hamas does not comply with the ceasefire agreement, the Israeli military will restart hostilities.
Israel has also informed the United Nations that, due to the small number of hostages’ bodies being handed over, the entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza is expected to be reduced or delayed.
