(Miri, 28th) Sarawak DAP Secretary Alan Ling, accompanied by Miri Member of Parliament Chiew Choon Man, attended a Hari Raya celebration today, extending his most sincere wishes to all Muslim friends. He wished everyone a joyful family reunion, good health, and a happy life during this festive occasion.
He stated that despite the past political manipulation that caused some fear among the Malay community, he is pleased to see that, over time, the DAP has gradually been accepted and recognized by the Malay community.
Now, the DAP solidly stands in the political mainstream, and Malay civil servants are capable of accepting the appointed DAP Minister and Deputy Minister, acknowledging their ability to perform their duties. This political recognition is the best reward for DAP's relentless efforts and the trust it has gained.
He also specifically mentioned that during his visits, he observed that more and more young Malay voters are able to accept the DAP and PKR, and they are starting to believe in our governing capabilities. This phenomenon is undoubtedly positive, symbolizing progress in democratic politics.
He emphasized that the DAP has always been a party for all people, committed to ensuring that everyone receives fair and equitable treatment. Regardless of background, the DAP will continue to strive effortlessly to ensure the well-being of all people and to promote a more harmonious and progressive society.
He added that seeing the gradual change in people's attitudes brings great comfort to the Sarawak DAP, and they will continue to work hard to contribute more significantly to Sarawak's prosperity in the future.
At the same time, he urged all party members to fight tirelessly in the upcoming political campaigns, striving to achieve more impressive achievements in the forthcoming elections.
“In the past, the PH and BN, once at odds, could form a government together, which means politics can be volatile and unpredictable. We need to remain vigilant, respond proactively, continually enhance our campaign capabilities, and strive for every voter's support and trust to adequately prepare for forming a government in Sarawak.”
