On the morning of May 14, Chinese President Xi Jinping held a ceremony at the East Gate Square of the Great Hall of the People in Beijing to welcome U.S. President Trump on his state visit to China.
According to China Central Television (CCTV) news reports, Xi Jinping will spend the entire day on Thursday holding a series of bilateral activities with Trump.
Previously, the White House introduced that on Thursday morning, Trump will attend the Chinese welcoming ceremony, and around 10 a.m. will hold talks with Xi Jinping. In the afternoon, the two heads of state will visit the Temple of Heaven, and in the evening a state banquet will be hosted for Trump. On Friday (15th), the two will have tea and a working lunch, after which Trump will depart for home.
The China-U.S. leaders' talks will be held in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. CCTV footage shows that pink and white azaleas, symbolizing good fortune, are placed in the center of the meeting table.
U.S. Secretary of State Rubio, U.S. Secretary of Defense Herges, and U.S. Secretary of the Treasury Besent will also participate in the talks between the leaders of China and the United States.
Trump's second son Eric is also accompanying his father on the visit to China. Accompanying Trump is also a delegation of more than ten representatives from the American business community, covering fields such as technology, finance, aviation, and agriculture.
