Chongqing City has issued China's first official license plate dedicated to L3-level autonomous driving, granting it to Changan Automobile.
According to Xinhua News Agency, China’s first official L3 autonomous driving license plate “Yu AD0001Z” was created in Chongqing on Saturday (December 20) and officially granted to Changan Automobile by the Chongqing Municipal Public Security Bureau Traffic Management Team, marking Changan Automobile as the pioneer in launching the L3-level autonomous driving era in China.

Currently, Changan's L3-level autonomous driving system has accumulated over 5 million kilometers of real-world road testing in Chongqing.
According to classification standards, L2 and L3 are regarded as the dividing line of intelligent driving levels. L2 and below emphasize assistive functions, while L3 enables the vehicle to perform certain decision-making functions under limited conditions.
