(Petaling Jaya, 22nd) Former DAP Damansara Member of Parliament leader Tony Pua has been summoned by the police to give a statement on Thursday over his post concerning the "National Principles."

Pua stated in a Facebook post that he received a call from the Shah Alam Police Headquarters at around 1:30pm that day, asking him to give a statement under Section 112 of the Criminal Procedure Code regarding his post about the "National Principles."

He pointed out that the investigation was carried out under Section 505 of the Penal Code as well as Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act (improper use of networks).

"I originally proposed to go to Shah Alam Police Headquarters on Friday, but the investigating officer stated that instructions were received to complete the statement on Thursday."

"Therefore, both parties agreed to record the statement at 4pm on Thursday in Petaling Jaya. I fully cooperated with the two professional officers from the Shah Alam Police Headquarters; the entire process took about 40 minutes."

He stated that the police carried out the investigation after receiving over 80 reports nationwide, with the first report originating from Taman Sri Muda in Shah Alam, and the content of the reports was largely similar.

"During the statement, I confirmed that the Facebook post was personally written by me and that I was not coerced by anyone. When questioned about the purpose of the post, I replied that it was to share my views on the 'National Principles.' When asked about the post's meaning, I stated that everything is as written in the content of the post."

Pua admitted that he will await the results of the investigation calmly.
