According to the Central News Agency report on the 9th, North Korea's eastern long-range artillery and missile units conducted joint strike training on the 8th, guided by Kim Jong Un, the General Secretary of the Workers' Party and Chairman of the State Affairs Commission of North Korea.
The report noted that the training involved 600mm multiple launch rocket systems and "Hwasong Artillery-11A" tactical ballistic missiles, aimed at familiarizing relevant units with the procedures of operating these weapon systems according to the national nuclear weapon comprehensive management system.
The report quoted a spokesperson from the North Korean Ministry of Defense saying that this training "fully demonstrates the retaliatory stance and capability of our armed forces to quickly respond to changes in the military situation created by enemies in sensitive areas."
The report stated that Kim Jong Un requested continuous improvement of the central role of nuclear force in both deterrence strategy and execution strategy and emphasized the importance of constantly perfecting the regular combat readiness posture of nuclear force. Kim Jong Un also emphasized that North Korea should continue to strive to improve the long-range precision strike capability and efficiency of its weapon systems.
