(Bandar Seri Begawan, 23rd) The Wenchong Alumni Association will hold the “2025 Academic Year Members’ Children Academic Excellence Award Presentation Ceremony” on June 14th (Sunday) from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the association’s clubhouse, followed by a luncheon reception. Award recipients and their parents are warmly invited to attend and join in the celebration.
President Lin Weifa said that this year’s event theme is “Opening New Paths of Intelligence, Cultivating Talents; Passing the Torch, Moving Toward the Future,” in response to the rapid development of Artificial Intelligence (AI). The theme emphasizes that education is not only the transmission of knowledge but is also a comprehensive cultivation of innovation, thinking literacy, and character.
He said that as AI and digital technology continue to change learning and working paradigms, young students need stronger adaptability and learning abilities. Through the establishment of the Academic Excellence Award, the alumni association not only recognizes students’ academic achievements but also hopes to encourage them to keep progressing in the new era and bravely face future challenges.
Deputy Director of Education and Welfare, Chen Meilan, pointed out that about 40 students have registered for the award this year, a slight decrease from previous years. The main reasons are that some long-term award recipients have graduated and, with limited growth in member numbers, the number of new applicants is correspondingly reduced.
She called on parents to actively involve their children in alumni association activities in the future so that the younger generation can be exposed to club culture earlier, fostering a sense of belonging and participation, and injecting new vitality into the long-term development of the association.
The association stated that the list of awardees will be published this year, and relevant parents will be notified of the event details accordingly.
At the same time, the association reminds that if an award recipient is absent from the ceremony without a reasonable excuse, the association reserves the right to cancel the award and related cash gifts.
