Additional 100 Liters Diesel Subsidy: Over 18,000 Eligible Applications Received

(Kuala Lumpur, 29th) As of 10pm on Sunday (June 28), the official portal for the MADANI Assistance Program (BUDI MADANI) has received over 18,000 eligible applications from diesel pickup truck and SUV owners for the monthly additional 100 liters diesel subsidy.

Second Finance Minister Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah told the media this during an inspection, together with the ministry's Secretary-General Tan Sri Johan, at a Petronas petrol station on the New Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE) heading towards Damansara, to check on the initial implementation of the MADANI Diesel Subsidy Program (BUDI Diesel).

He said that overall, the second day of the MADANI Diesel Subsidy Program was running smoothly with no technical malfunctions.

"Since its implementation yesterday (27th), there have already been over 40,000 transactions, all involving users benefiting from the MADANI Diesel Subsidy Program."

Amir Hamzah stated that the public can apply for the additional subsidy through the official MADANI Assistance Program website. If necessary, they can also seek assistance at Inland Revenue Board offices, Urban Transformation Centres (UTC), and service counters set up by several oil companies.

He added that the government has also introduced a diesel quota transfer mechanism, applicable in situations where the registered vehicle owner and the actual user are not the same person.

"If you need to process a quota transfer, you can apply through the same website. We will ensure that the diesel quota is transferred to the genuine user."

He explained that petrol stations will verify applications using identification card numbers upon approval.

"The diesel quota will then be linked to the new user's identification number. When refueling at the station, the system will automatically recognize the completed quota transfer."

"However, the diesel quota will still be tied to the vehicle and can only be used by the designated person after approval for the transfer."

Amir Hamzah emphasized that so far, there have been no technical reports from the system or petrol station operators, and the government will ensure the smooth official implementation of the program on July 1.

The MADANI Diesel Subsidy Program was first implemented in Peninsular Malaysia on Sunday (28th), allowing eligible users to purchase up to 200 liters of diesel at a subsidized price of RM2.15 per liter under a flexible quota system.

In addition, the subsidized diesel price will be reduced to RM2.10 per liter starting this Wednesday (July 1).
