(Kuala Lumpur, 12th) From April 1 to 11, the Border Control and Protection Agency (AKPS) refused entry to 28 foreign nationals at the Bukit Kayu Hitam Customs, Quarantine and Security Complex (ICQS).

Bukit Kayu Hitam Border Control and Protection Agency commander Fuzie stated that among them, 14 were Indian citizens, comprising 13 men and 1 woman.

In a press statement on Sunday (April 12), he said that these people who were refused entry to our country were aged between 20 and over 40. They did not meet the requirements for entering as tourists, including not having return flight tickets and failing to provide immigration officers with clear travel purposes. In addition, some were also listed as suspicious individuals by the Immigration Department and were not allowed entry into Malaysia.

Fuzie said that five Thai citizens were found using damaged passports and did not meet the entry requirements. Another two Bangladeshi men were denied entry because, according to existing Immigration Department instructions, nationals of that country are not allowed to use land border entry points.

He pointed out that the remaining individuals were from Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, and Indonesia, and they were ordered to return to their last country of departure for failing to comply with entry requirements.

He said the Border Control and Protection Agency will continue to strengthen regulation at the entry points to ensure that only qualified visitors can pass through.

“Those who attempt to abuse Immigration Department facilities to enter will face severe action.”
