Recent remarks made by Chinese short drama actor Cao Tiankai during a livestream have attracted widespread attention and discussion on Thai online platforms.
According to a report by Thai Headline News on the 18th, during a livestream while doing makeup for a short drama shoot, he interacted with fans and talked about Thailand. He said: “Some celebrity friends often invite me to travel to Thailand, but honestly, I don’t really dare go. I’m afraid I would be trafficked there.” He then added that he tends to leave the house without using his head and could be easily abducted: “If someone told me ‘I have candy, this is for you,’ I’d probably go with them. I might get off the plane at ten, and be gone by ten-thirty.”
He also said that he actually prefers traveling in China and hasn’t even explored all of China yet.
These remarks sparked considerable dissatisfaction among Thai fans, who felt his comments were inappropriate, disrespectful, and seemed to demean Thailand. Many people said they would no longer support him.
Comments included: “Please don’t make judgments about a country you’ve never visited,” “Hope none of his dramas are imported into Thailand,” “Can anyone make a list of series he’s acted in? That way I won’t accidentally click on them,” “Already unfollowed him on Douyin,” “What a shame, I just started following him—why would he say such things.”
