(Kuching, 19th) The Secretary General of the Sarawak Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCCI), Dato' Lawrence Tai Wenduo, led a delegation of 12 members for a courtesy visit to Deputy Minister of Sarawak Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development, Dato' Libin Rama, at the Sarawak State Assembly building. They discussed the Sarawak Youth Entrepreneurship Program Training Camp, scheduled to be held over eight days from December 7th to 14th at the Sarawak Sports Village in Kuching.
The delegation included committee members from the Kuching Chinese Chamber of Commerce and members of the Young Entrepreneurs Group, namely Tan Cheng Shin, Cai Minglong, Li Weihong, Sun Guojie, Zhou Liangqiang, Tan Weizheng, Li Zhiming, Lin Shunya, Wu Jinzhi, and Su Liqun.
The SCCCI is one of the strategic partners for this event, and both parties will work closely together to ensure its successful organization.
The purpose of this event is to nurture and support young entrepreneurs at the early stages of their ventures, providing them with guidance and resources to equip them with comprehensive entrepreneurial knowledge and the necessary skills for establishing a business. This is to ensure that these startups can grow steadily, develop sustainably, and achieve success in the future.
The target enrollment number is 300 youths from across Sarawak, aged between 18 to 40 years. All food and accommodation expenses will be provided free of charge by the authorities.
The department will collaborate with various Sarawak and federal government agencies to offer a wealth of information and mentorship, providing an intensive course covering company registration and licensing, financial management, business plan preparation, risk analysis, market evaluation, branding, product validation, halal certification, franchising, trademark registration, social enterprises, creative industry development, government training, and financial assistance.
The SCCCI encourages local Chinese youths, including recent graduates, unemployed graduates, school leavers, and those interested in entrepreneurship, to seize this opportunity and actively register to take the first step towards successful entrepreneurship.
