(Miri, 10th) On the 7th of this month (Saturday), led by Chairman Yang Zhenping, a 25-member delegation from the Miri Teochew Association, comprising members from the council, youth group, women's group, and senior group, set off for Bintulu to participate in the 18th Pan-Sarawak Teochew Gathering, 27th Pan-Sarawak Youth Teochew Gathering, and 22nd Pan-Sarawak Women's Teochew Gathering, sponsored by the Sarawak Teochew Friendship Association and hosted by the Bintulu Teochew Association.

The gathering officially kicked off at 2 PM that afternoon, launching a series of rich and colorful activities encompassing both cultural and sports exchanges, including the "2025 Pan-Sarawak Teochew Dialect Karaoke Singing Competition," "Duoduo Bobo" Teochew workshop, paper-cutting art experience, and an archery challenge.

The organizers actively built communication platforms through diverse activities to deepen the ties between all associations and further consolidate the cohesiveness of the Teochew community in Sarawak.

During this grand event, the Miri Teochew Association delegation repeatedly received good news with outstanding performances. Chairman Yang Zhenping won the championship in the modern Teochew dialect singing competition. Women's group member Xu Damei performed excellently, seizing third place in the classical Teochew dialect singing competition. Meanwhile, the Miri youth group did not fall behind in the archery challenge, securing fourth place, bringing honor to the association.

At 7 PM that evening, the highlight event "Teochew Night and Filial Piety Elderly Celebration Dinner" was held grandly. The programs at the dinner were splendid and reached new highs, with the majestic Teochew gongs and drums opening the evening, followed by traditional Teochew classical music performances that showcased the profound heritage and unique charm of Teochew culture.

In line with the Teochew tradition of "respecting elders and honoring talents," the organizers specially presented red packets and longevity peaches to the elderly, promoting the spirit of filial piety in a warm and touching scene. The women's group from the Miri Teochew Association also took to the stage during the dinner to perform a dance, winning applause with their graceful movements, adding a festive atmosphere to the event. Guests shared in their hometown bonds and enjoyed the delicacies, demonstrating the excellent tradition of unity, mutual assistance, and respect for the elderly in the Teochew community.

On the following day, June 8th (Sunday), the three major institutions of the gathering (council group, youth group, and women's group) held simultaneous fellowship meetings. Representatives from each association collaborated to propose many constructive opinions, planning a new blueprint for the future development of the Sarawak Teochew community and discussing long-term development and inheritance.

Chairman Yang Zhenping expressed sincere gratitude for the meticulous preparation and warm reception by the Bintulu Teochew Association and highly praised the complete success of this conference. He stated that this event successfully united the strength of the eight associations in Sarawak, highlighting the spirit of unity among the Teochew, and holds significant cultural inheritance and community integration value, injecting new momentum and direction for the Teochew associations in Sarawak.

Next year, the 19th Pan-Sarawak Teochew Gathering will be hosted by the Sri Aman Teochew Association, continuing to write a new chapter of unity and cooperation among the Teochew.
