(Bandar Seri Begawan, 10th) – In his speech, Brunei-China Friendship Association Chairman Chen Jiafu expressed his warmest welcome to the visiting Chinese delegation. He stated that this visit continues the long-term friendly cooperation between Brunei and China, injecting new momentum as both move towards the future together.
In his address, he mentioned that regardless of a nation's size or the differences between cultures, humanity shares four common wishes for the future: peace, stability, health, and prosperity.
"These wishes are not only national aspirations, but also expectations of youth and families, forming the foundation upon which we all look towards the future. Second, understanding is the starting point of mutual trust—to achieve our common goals, the key is not technology or systems, but understanding. Understanding each other's cultures, concerns and dreams, and the universal emotions of mankind. Without understanding, there is no trust; without trust, it is difficult to have cooperation; without cooperation, we will struggle to tackle global challenges. Therefore, people-to-people exchanges and cultural mutual learning form the core strength of a community with a shared future between peoples."
He also emphasized that the people are the bridge, and youth are the future; international cooperation is not only between governments, but more so between peoples. Youth exchanges, volunteer service, and cross-cultural cooperation all bring people closer and strengthen trust.
