A Chinese female doctor was murdered at a clinic in Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia, with a police investigation report indicating that her body bore a total of 34 stab wounds.
According to the 'Cambodia-China Times', the incident was discovered in the afternoon of the 12th, at a clinic located in the New World City residential area in the Tuol Kork district of Phnom Penh. Visitors to the clinic were looking for the doctor and found a large amount of blood and the victim lying in a pool of blood, after which they notified the victim's family members and residential security to call the police.
According to the police report, the victim was a 47-year-old Chinese woman who had been engaged in disease diagnosis and treatment at the clinic where the incident occurred, and also lived inside the clinic.
The suspect is a 37-year-old Cambodian man, who is currently in police custody.
The police report shows that the victim had 34 stab wounds found on her body: one on the head, 12 on the torso, and 21 on the limbs. There were also multiple lacerations on the head caused by blunt force trauma. Multiple wounds were also found on both hands and fingers.
A forensic examination revealed abnormal conditions with the victim’s clothing, rigor mortis had set in, and there were visible bruises around the right eye.
Based on a comprehensive review of the scene investigation, forensic examination, and related evidence, the police have preliminarily determined that the death was caused by sharp force injuries and that the crime is suspected to involve “murder before rape.” Currently, the police are continuing to investigate the case and the suspect’s motive, and are proceeding with subsequent judicial procedures according to law.
