(Tehran, 22nd) — Iranian President Pezeshkian stated on the 21st that despite various problems created by enemies and harm caused to Iran, the Iranian people will never submit to bullying and coercion by enemies.

He said at a ceremony honoring disabled athletes that just as Iranian athletes did not yield to challenges, neither the Iranian nation nor government would submit.

He emphasized that the enemies do not miss any opportunity to create trouble for Iran, but the Iranian government is striving to overcome these challenges and shortcomings through unity and cooperation.

U.S. President Trump confirmed on the 20th that he is considering a "preliminary and limited military strike" on Iran to force Iran to accept the U.S. demands on the nuclear agreement issue.

The second round of indirect talks between the U.S. and Iran was held in Geneva, Switzerland, on the 17th. After the talks, both U.S. and Iranian officials stated that although differences remain, progress was made compared to the previous round and both sides agreed to continue contact.

Naval and Air Forces of EU Member States Listed as ‘Terrorist Organizations’

The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement on the 21st saying that the Iranian government has listed the naval and air forces of EU member states as “terrorist organizations” in response to the EU placing Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) on its list of terrorist organizations.

On January 19th, the EU placed Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps on its terrorist organization list.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry’s statement pointed out that, in response, the Iranian government has taken reciprocal measures against the naval and air forces of EU countries. This is based on a law passed in 2019 after the U.S. designated the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps as a “terrorist organization.” The law stipulates that any countries complying with or supporting the U.S. decision in any way will be subject to “reciprocal” sanctions.
