Chen Shaochun Assumes Post as New Ambassador to Brunei: Promising Prospects for China-Brunei Relations

(Bandar Seri Begawan, 10th) The newly appointed Chinese Ambassador to Brunei, Chen Shaochun, together with his wife Wu Yi, arrived in Brunei yesterday to officially assume his new post. Officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Brunei and key diplomats from the Chinese Embassy in Brunei went to the airport to welcome them.

Chen Shaochun expressed that he is deeply honored to be appointed by President Xi Jinping as the thirteenth Chinese Ambassador to Brunei at this important juncture of the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Brunei. He pointed out that under the strategic guidance of the two countries' leaders, exchanges and cooperation in various fields between China and Brunei have been continuously deepened and have achieved fruitful results. The future prospects for bilateral relations are broad and promising.

He emphasized that going forward, he will work hand in hand with friends from all sectors in Brunei, resolutely implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, continue to deepen and expand friendly and cooperative relations, and actively promote the continuous advancement of the China-Brunei community with a shared future.
